Part D
Confused about
Medicare Part D?
-
Open enrollment begins November 15th, 2006.
-
If you have
an HMO plan or Retirement Benefit plan:
you most likely will not need to enroll in a Medicare Part D plan.
-
If you have
Medicare AND Medi-Cal: you have been automatically assigned a
Part D plan. This assignment was done randomly to ensure prescription
drug coverage as of January 1, 2006. Please note that the plan that
you've been assigned may or may not include your prescription drugs.
Some carriers have more extensive formularies than others. Contact our
office to see which plan is best for you.
-
If you have
a Medicare Supplement or just Medicare Part A or B: choose a plan
whose formulary covers your prescription medications. Then compare the
monthly premiums, copayments and deductible amounts. All plans are
"actuarially" equal, but they differ in copayments, premiums and deductibles.
