It’s that time of year… yes the holidays are quickly approaching too, but it’s almost time for the Open Enrollment/Annual Election Period for health insurance coverage. If you would like to apply for, or make changes to your existing health insurance coverage, the time is almost here.

Individual & Family Coverage – November 1, 2015 through January 31, 2016
Open enrollment for 2016 coverage begins Nov. 1, 2015, and continues through Jan. 31, 2016. However, Medi-Cal enrollment is year-round. Additionally, individuals who experience a qualifying life event may be eligible to enroll in private coverage by applying for special enrollment.

Medicare Annual Election Period (AEP) – October 15, 2015 through December 7, 2015
Open Enrollment, also known as the Annual Election Period (AEP), is the period each year during which you may change your Medicare Advantage plan and/or Part D coverage, and/or return to Original Medicare. The AEP is October 15, 2015 – December 7, 2015. Any plan changes you make during the AEP are effective January 1, 2016.
